Altman Advisory Group ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies only to this website, not to any third-party site you reach through a link on it.

Information We Collect

This website does not require account sign-up, so we do not automatically collect personal information like your name or email address just from browsing it. If you reach out by phone, email, or a contact form using the details on this site, we retain whatever information you choose to share with us, such as your name, email address and phone number, in order to respond to you. When you enter your name and email to book a call, they reach us as soon as you choose to pick a time, even if you don't finish booking, so we can follow up about the call you started to book.

Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically log standard technical information (such as browser type, device type, and pages visited) for security and performance purposes. We also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use this site: which pages are read, how people arrived, and general location at the city level. Your IP address is anonymized before it is stored, and we do not use this data to identify you personally or for advertising. On the pages our Facebook and Instagram ads link to, Meta and other third parties may use cookies and similar technologies to collect information about your visit, such as the pages you view and whether you booked a call, and use it to measure our ads and decide which ads to show you. Those events go from your browser directly to Meta. When you book a call from one of those pages, our website server also reports the booking to Meta. That report includes your name and email address in a scrambled (hashed) form, which lets Meta match the booking to a Facebook or Instagram account, along with your IP address, browser type and Meta's cookie. You can opt out of interest-based advertising at aboutads.info/choices and in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings.

Text Messages

If you provide your phone number through a contact form on this site and opt in, we may send you text messages related to your inquiry, on an occasional basis. Reply STOP to any message at any time to unsubscribe. We do not share your phone number or other contact information with third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes. If you book a call and give a number for text reminders, our scheduling tool, Calendly, sends those reminders. The number you give for the call is the one Jeff calls.

Third-Party Tools

This site uses the following third-party services:

Calendly, for booking a call
Google Analytics
Meta Pixel and Conversions API, on the pages our Facebook and Instagram ads link to, to measure whether those ads lead to booked calls
Cloudflare Turnstile, to screen our forms for automated spam
Make and Google Workspace, which deliver and store what you send us through our forms
YouTube, in privacy-enhanced mode, for videos you choose to play
Vimeo, with its do-not-track setting on, for videos you choose to play

Those tools have their own privacy policies governing any information you provide directly to them, and we encourage you to review those policies before using them.

Cloudflare Turnstile checks each form submission in the background, usually without asking you to do anything, by reading technical information about your browser and device to tell people apart from automated spam. Cloudflare's Turnstile privacy policy explains what it collects and how it is used.

Cookies

This site uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies in your browser to measure how the site is used. On the pages our ads link to, Meta's Pixel sets advertising cookies so Meta can measure those ads. Third-party tools embedded on the site may set their own cookies in your browser under their own privacy policies, which we do not control. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings; doing so may affect how well embedded third-party tools function.

Financial Privacy Notice

Because Jeff Altman provides insurance and planning services (see Disclosures), the following applies to nonpublic personal information ("NPI") collected in connection with those services, consistent with the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA):

What we collect: information you provide on applications or forms (such as name, address, date of birth, Social Security number, and income or asset information), information about your transactions with us or our affiliated firms, and information from consumer reporting agencies where applicable.
How we use it: solely to provide the insurance and planning services you've requested, to service your account, and to comply with legal and regulatory recordkeeping obligations.
Sharing with nonaffiliated third parties: we do not sell your NPI. We disclose it only as necessary to service your account (for example, to the insurance carrier implementing a transaction on your behalf), or as required by law, regulation, or a valid legal process. The one exception: if you book a call from one of our Facebook or Instagram ads, we share your name and email address with Meta, in hashed form, so we can measure how that ad performed.
Your opt-out right: to the extent we ever share NPI in a way that triggers an opt-out right under GLBA, you may exercise that right by contacting us using the information below.
Safeguarding: we maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards designed to protect your NPI, consistent with our obligations under GLBA and applicable state insurance privacy law.

How We Use Information

Any information you provide to us directly (by phone, email, a contact form, or a third-party scheduling tool) is used to respond to your inquiry, provide the services you've requested, and maintain accurate client records. If you book a call from one of the pages our ads link to, we also share your name and email address with Meta in hashed form to measure how our ads perform, as described above. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect information shared with us, including limiting access to personal information to those who need it to do their jobs and using encryption for sensitive data in transit. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of any information you send to us.

Your Rights and Choices

You may contact us at any time to ask what information we hold about you, to request corrections, or to request that we delete information you've previously shared with us, subject to any recordkeeping obligations we have as a financial services firm. Depending on where you live, you may also have some or all of the following rights under applicable data protection law:

The right to access the information we hold about you
The right to request correction of inaccurate information
The right to request deletion of your information
The right to restrict or object to certain processing
The right to request a copy of your data in a portable format
The right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
The right to lodge a complaint with a relevant supervisory authority

Requests to delete or deactivate information may, because of backups and legal recordkeeping requirements, result in the information being deactivated and excluded from future use rather than immediately and completely erased.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time as our website or practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. If a change would affect how we handle information you've previously asked us not to disclose, we will contact you before that change takes effect.
